D A I L Y     P R O G R E S S

Tour began on Saturday May, 12th 2007.
We left at 8:00 a.m., from the Walton Arts Center parking lot in Fayetteville.

Day Seventeen

Lake City to Jacksonville
71 miles
Slightly overcast to sunny
70s to 80s
Nice road, nice trail, not too much traffic (Memorial Day) There is a
great rails to trails (14.5 mile) portion of this trek.
Calm in the morning and winds began to pick up in the afternoon.

We did the first portion from Lake City to Baldwin where we met some
members of the Jacksonville Cycling club.
It was great to meet some fellow cycles who led the rest of the way into
town.
Thanks for joining us on the last leg and helping us navigate through
the last part of town.

We ended at Friendship park in downtown Jacksonville and were met with a
great reception from the Jacksonville Down Syndrome Association.
It was so good to meet so many of you and we sure appreciate your
support and the desire to raise awareness about Down Syndrome.
Although this is the end of this specific journey, it certainly is not
the end of each of our individual journeys.
We pray that we may be able to bring a little hope and help at every
turn in the road as we continue to meet so many beautiful people on the
way.

Thoughts:
Thanks to so many of you who have helped us on this journey.
We have enjoyed meeting so many very wonderful people.
The effects of Down Syndrome have affected our family profoundly.
But actually the effects of every one of our children have affected our
family profoundly.

My question is, "What do we live for?"
What are the most important things in our lives?
Our work?
A nice house?
A nice car?
Recognition?

I believe that it is people who are worth living for!
Each child / person is a blessing, a special gift - valuable beyond
measure.
Each of you have been a blessing, precious, special gifts.
I smile thinking about the journey and each of you.
I am a rich man! I have enjoyed the journey.
I'll be looking for you around the next bend in the road.
